45~120kg Chaise Lounge
Iterations dealt with creating a system that incorporates a standard door closer within a mechanism able to contract and expand along a vertical line. The single module is repeated creating ten identical supports on top of which a flexible aluminium sheet configuration lies. This metal bed deforms under the weight of different body parts and retains its original shape when the weight is removed. The steel structure underneath holds the supports together and insures enough ground clearance for the gears and chains. Persons weighing less than 45kg will not generate any deflection while those above 120kg will bring the arms to a maximum contraction. This experiment produced a fully working prototype, a very heavy one.
